Bible Translation (Nkonya Bible) with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Ghana. World Partners with EMCC. Past members of Parkdale, attending while working at the head Wycliff office in Calgary before leaving for Africa.
Home church: First Evangelical Missionary Church, Edmonton.
Ministry: The Peacocks work with the Nkonya Bible translation project in southern Ghana. They also teach literacy classes in the Nkonya language and work with small development projects. The Nkonya New Testament was just dedicated Nov. 19th. Work continues on the Old Testament. Challenges: Family health issues have made it necessary for Katie to be in Canada for the most of the past few years to look after her parents and brother. Her parents passed away this past year but her brother continues to need care. As a result they have been travelling between Canada and Africa frequently but computers and internet do make it possible to continue with the translation work on either side of the ocean. Face to face consultations are needed with the language experts in Africa regularly. Family: Three grown children living in Alberta.
