“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

God’s word accomplishes what man's word cannot. When you faithfully proclaim the word of God, the Holy Spirit uses it mightily to work in the hearts and minds of those who hear. The authority and power that are needed in ministry do not come from you; they come from God’s word. There is no power in mere human words to save souls or to transform lives. However, God’s word can minister to every single need known to mankind.

That which makes me “competent, equipped for every good work” is the word of God. (2 Timothy 3:17)
